Portrait of Tyler, Functional Tutoring

Private Math Tutoring

Hi, I’m Tyler. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut and began tutoring while in college, helping fellow students, serving as a teaching assistant, and co-founding a small math club. Being proactive about learning-both my own and my students’—has shaped how I approach tutoring from the start.

I’ve spent several years tutoring students from early elementary through upper-level college, both independently and in academic settings. I’m especially comfortable with algebra, geometry, and calculus, but I enjoy working across a wide range of subjects. Students I’ve worked with have gone on to attend schools including Cornell, Bowdoin College, and Trinity College.

If you’re looking for a supportive, low-pressure tutoring environment with a focus on real understanding and steady progress, I’d be happy to help.

Testimonials

Tyler does an excellent job breaking down math step by step. My child is much more confident in Pre-Calculus and finally feels equipped to succeed.
