How to approach graphing points on the coordinate plane

An ordered pair locates one exact point on a coordinate plane. The first coordinate gives horizontal movement from the origin, and the second gives vertical movement.

Positive x-values move right and negative x-values move left. Positive y-values move up and negative y-values move down. A zero coordinate places the point directly on an axis.
