How to approach scientific notation

Scientific notation writes a nonzero number as a × 10ⁿ where 1 ≤ |a| < 10. The exponent records how many places the decimal point moves.

Positive exponents represent numbers greater than or equal to 10; negative exponents represent numbers between 0 and 1. Preserve significant digits while moving the decimal.

Follow the reasoning step by step
